    Grommets & Eyelets

    Grommets and Eyelets are extremely similar in their appearance and function. The metal rings add reinforcement to holes and create a professional touch on printing jobs, large and small. 

    Eyelets

    An Eyelet, similar to those found on shoes and boots, is a piece of metal that is bent around a hole to allow for hanging, binding or otherwise securing a piece. These are used in badges, cards, keychains, hanging door signs, hang tags or even ornaments which require a ribbon, string, keyring, wire or rope. Securing two or more pieces of paper together with the eyelet can create swatch books or movable figures. Eyelets also work well with hooks on double sided hanging posters. Document eyelets are used in folders for 3 ring binders, envelopes and other interesting bindery options. Eyelets can even be used in plastic, fabric, vinyl or almost any kind of paper. 

    Grommets

    A Grommet is actually two pieces of metal that are secured to either side of a banner, tent or tarp to reinforce holes used to secure it with rope, cord or hooks. Hanging signs, such as vinyl banners require the additional support to ensure the holes don't rip in wind, while under tension or with prolonged use. Grommets can be used in fabric, vinyl and even rigid substrates to prevent tears and give an overall completed look.

    Die Making 101 Seminar

    Die cutting is an impressive way to give print pieces a unique and eye catching finishing cut or score, turning seemingly impossible jobs into gorgeous realities. You may know dielines are used in print files to dictate where the die will cut the piece, but do you know how they're made? How does a simple line in Illustrator become a die and ultimately the perfect shaped piece? Let us show you how to take a project through the entire process from concept and design to printing and finishing for a successful final piece. 

    At SunDance's Open House in 2015, we held a seminar called Die Making 101 which showed the entire process of actual production pieces. Creative Director Susanna Toppa lead the first half of the seminar with a focus on the pre-production aspects of design: how to set up dielines, paper choice, prototyping, required layout and dieline exporting to get the piece into production. Finishing Expert, Dave Leyrer then demonstrated how the dielines are cut into a die board and how the die rules are bent to shape. He then moved on to show a live job on the die cutter and let attendees fold the final product.

From that vision came Patient First, a pharmacy that puts patient care ahead of industry needs. Based on our success with some competitors in their market, they chose the Sundance team to bring their brand to life.     How to prepare artwork for printing

    Many files sent to us cannot be output exactly as delivered. File problems (ranging from missing fonts to incorrect page size to overprint issues) can result in anything from a minor inconvenience to delays, cost overruns, unanticipated proofing rounds, late-stage design changes or even unhappiness with a finished job.

    The best way to avoid any issues is to factor in printing from the earliest possible point in the planning stage. Prepress doesn’t have to start when you deliver the file to us – it starts when you begin planning your project. Preparing printing specifications(specs) may seem like a distraction from actual designing, but if done early and correctly, we can become your best ally in making exactly the project you envision, on-spec, on-time and on-budget.

    Print Sales Representative

    SunDance Marketing Solutions is looking for a dynamic sales representative. SunDance is a communications company with a printing focus that is unlike most printers you have come across in your career. SunDance produces offset, digital, large format, fulfillment, design, marketing and mailing all in-house.
