Foil

Looking to add shine to your print project? Foil printing and stamping techniques can turn everyday projects into extraordinary ones. This eye-catching technique lets you add a rich, professional touch to nearly any print job.

Foiling, also called foil printing or hot foil stamping, is traditionally done with a hot stamping machine using a heated custom-made die and gold or silver foil. SunDance offers traditional hot-foiling as well as a dieless digital method great for short run, premium, or personalized/variable foiling. We offer a wide selection of colors, applications, and finishing options. Foil printing can be applied to nearly any surface or substrate.

We do all the foiling and other special finishes in-house at SunDance rather than sending them to an outside vendor, offering optimal efficiency and a stunning final product in a one-stop shop.

Foil Types

  • Metallic Foils have a metal-like shimmer. Typically used in gold or silver, but also available in copper, bronze, green, blue, red, and more.
  • Special Effects Foils can include textures like woodgrain, animal print, geometric, and more to give your piece that extra-special something.
  • Holographic Foils add a multi-color metallic, high-dimension look that creates a dramatic effect.
  • Pearl Effect Foils create a pearlescent sheen, resulting in a tactile and nearly transparent color. This more subtle effect works well on stationery, invitations, business cards, and more.
  • Pigment Foils — A range of non-metallic, matte or gloss pigment foils are available to add enhanced visual appeal to text and graphic elements.
  • Custom Foil Colors are available to use a specific branded color for your logo or special event.
  • Foil Labels create sleek, stylish designs guaranteed to catch a consumer’s eye as they browse the shelves.
