Sustainability is one of our five core values at SunDance. Conservation and environmentally-friendly practices have been part of our operations from the beginning. Across our entire manufacturing process as well as administration, customer service, sales, and marketing, our whole team is committed to reducing, reusing, and recycling. We offer recycled, recyclable, and sustainable materials across every product we sell, and we even have compostable options.

Certifications

SunDance was the first offset printer in Florida certified by SGP, the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership. SGP is a nonprofit organization that certifies printing and packaging facilities and their suppliers’ sustainability best practices, including and beyond regulatory compliance. SGP is different than other certification programs because it takes the entire facility into account—our process, product, and social areas—not just a single attribute. To maintain this certification we are audited every year.

We also hold an FSC Certification. The Forest Stewardship Council is a nonprofit organization providing trusted solutions to help protect the world’s forests and tackle today’s deforestation, climate, and biodiversity challenges. Our Chain of Custody Certification verifies that forest-based materials produced according to their rigorous standards are used along the product’s path from the forest to becoming finished goods. Maintaining this certification also requires an audit every year.

Sustainable Practices in Printing & Packaging

• Recycling 100% of our production paper waste and aluminum printing plates
• Low VOC solvents and vegetable-based inks
• Entire facility and all materials are PFAS free
• Investment in a solvent recycler that recycles a majority of the solvent we use
• Tracking usage of raw materials, making a concerted effort to reduce consumption
• Reducing makeready time on our equipment to use less paper, ink, and solvents
• Using materials derived from renewable resources or with low environmental impact, taking into account recycling and recovery efforts wherever possible
• Taking environmental impact into consideration when investing in equipment
• Digital printing when possible, which uses less paper, ink, and energy (we even have digital foiling & effects)

Sustainable Practices Across the Business

We offer online storefronts for our clients so we can print items as needed. This reduces waste caused by the information on print materials going out of date, and ensures organizations get exactly what they need across multiple locations.

While firmly committed to human creativity, SunDance uses AI programs to increase efficiency, reducing resources used.

SunDance is committed to continual improvement. We have teams that meet periodically to plan ways to improve and streamline our internal processes. With each change we strive to use fewer resources, recycle more materials, or produce less waste.

We are proud to have wonderful employee engagement, including the sustainability committee which spearheads annual projects. Our Kids Summer Food Drive donated cash and 150 pounds of snacks and quick meals to Second Harvest Food Bank, our e-recycling event collected 560 pounds of e-waste, and we’ve even planted a pollinator garden with native Florida plants and wildflowers for bees and butterflies at our headquarters.
