Sustainable Showstoppers: Recyclable Tradeshow Displays

Tradeshow exhibits are designed to make an impact, but too often the materials live on much longer than the show itself. Traditional tradeshow signage and booth structures are usually made of non-recyclable materials like PVC or styrene and then discarded after the convention closes. An inordinate amount of landfill waste is created after just a few days on the show floor.

100% Recyclable Booth & Furniture

At Printing United Expo 2025, SunDance partnered with the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) to create a custom tradeshow booth that challenged the norm. The goal was a completely recyclable tradeshow booth that included signage, handouts, tables, center header, booth walls, and seating. The result was a booth engineered for performance, visual appeal, and sustainability; both reusable and 100% recyclable at teardown.

Our team at SunDance knew the booth had to be visually striking, environmentally sustainable, and (most importantly!) functional. We relied on several substrates to accomplish our goal and used products from multiple SGP members. We combined different textures and materials to create visual interest and highlight creative uses for fabric, boards, decals, and papers. SGP member-provided dielines created a fully functional table and chairs. SunDance designed a literature holder and a console table strong enough to support a 40” TV for video display. The resulting booth is unique, inventive, functional, and never destined for a landfill!

What’s Possible

There are lingering myths that sustainable tradeshow signage means limited options, higher costs, or lower quality. Thoughtful engineering and material selection can deliver booths and signage that are visually compelling, structurally sound, and aligned with company and consumer sustainability goals. By rethinking how these elements are designed, produced, and disposed of, brands can reduce waste without compromising their presence on the show floor.

By partnering with SunDance to design for both the tradeshow and the teardown, your company can ensure your exhibit won’t just make an impression; it will be good for the planet, too. Contact us today to talk about how your displays and signage could be 100% recyclable.
